Projects
We are building the platform through projects with various partners, among other things. Read more about these projects below or get in touch if you would like to participate in one of our projects, know more about our projects or collaborate on a new project.
Current projects
FIRE RES
FIRE-RES is a 4-year project (2021-2025) led by the Forest Science and Technology Centre of Catalonia in Spain and funded under the EU's H2020 research and innovation programme.
This initiative aims to develop a comprehensive and integrated strategy to effectively manage extreme forest fire events in Europe.
In collaboration with Midt-Hedmark Brann og Redning, we have developed a prototype for forest fire management based on ELS.
With this prototype, Sideways Solution was placed in FIRE RES's accelerator.
Through FIRE RES, NIBIO, DSB, Södertörns brannförsvarsförbund and Midt-Hedmark Brann og Redning have contributed important insights for further development of functionality for forest fire management at different levels.
Response times at sea
This project is a further development of our existing response time module. How well do the emergency services cover the sea?
In this project we look at how preparedness is at sea? Which ports would be optimal for launching an emergency boat?
We are doing this project in collaboration with one of our customers in the fire and rescue service and the first solution is scheduled to be ready in the spring of 2025.
Please contact us if you would like to know more about this project.
Upcoming projects
Table top
Preliminary project in collaboration with The University of Innlandet (Norway) to clarify needs around table top/table exercises.
The goal of the project is to find out how we can lower the threshold for implementing tabletop exercises.
What functionality is needed? How do you distinguish an exercise from a critical incident? And how can you implement new knowledge from exercises into existing plans?
Digitization - Forestry and consultation
Situation assessment, consultation and sharing of data for the forest industry in case of forest fire risk.
For the forestry industry, a forest fire will have a direct and major consequence. Therefore, we will work together with the forestry industry to find good solutions to improve preparedness when they work in the forest.
Satelite in forest fire management
In this project we ask how satellite technology can be made available and utilized in the best possible way in forest fire management. Our main focus in this project will therefore not be satellite technology itself, but user interfaces.
The satellite data we will use will help the user manage an ongoing forest fire, as well as document burned areas in the aftermath of a forest fire.
